Depression is a mental health problem with increasing prevalence globally and the USA too. It has severe health impacts that include loss of productivity, poor quality of life, increased care costs, and premature mortality. It is important for nurses and other healthcare providers to implement interventions that enhance depression management in the affected populations. As a result, my project proposes the use of telehealth interventions to improve depression symptoms among the affected populations. The Healthcare industry is quite vast and is always a necessary organization in every country, investing and improving it should be the goal of businessmen and government. It is safe to say that there is no best way to run an organization but there are several best practices that combine for a healthcare organization to perform in its best possible manner in terms of satisfied and contented staff and improved quality of care with patient safety in the hospital. But it is really important to understand which features are working towards the best performance. A strong leadership approach needs to be there where every person has his or her known well-defined roles so that there are no confusion and conflicts over power. Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) safety measures can also improve patient safety and satisfaction in the hospital they are being checked. This approach is used to make a care coordination plan that focuses on phases to find the result. The first phase has its complete focus on planning where the experiences and opinions of each relevant team member are considered before making an action plan for the hospital.
The Do phase is the trial and error check phase when after the complete planning stage an action plan comes into the light and that focuses on identifying the errors that can be taken into account if the trial does not work according to the judged results. The checking phase has a lot to do with the identified errors and making adjustments in the action plan.
The acting phase is about the final adjustments and implementation of the coordination and action plan. This plan has been quite effective in the healthcare industry as it increases the quality of care and safety of the patient through effective planning and reviewing of the whole plan. A questionnaire survey was carried out to understand how impactful and beneficial this tool was for the safety of the patients and it turned out that the head nurses and the staff nurses informed that there was an 86.7% improvement in patient safety by this intervention tool (Seleem et al., 2019).

The nursing staff’s problem-solving skills and creating strategies, including their abilities and experience to evaluate outcomes and performances, are frequently what determine the quality of care. Cooperation and coordination among staff and other departments are intended to provide direction to employees and members of the public in order to strengthen continuous QI initiatives. To prevent potential discomfort of patients and shorten their hospital stays, safe procedures were to be followed. Such actions can prevent improper usage of medical products and medications. Furthermore, this can be concluded from the patient-centered priorities that individuals are highly regarded in such continuing projects along with selecting the best choices for patients in terms of effectiveness and management. Since the advances in medicine and technology, numerous scholars and healthcare experts have made sure that healthcare agencies in the US have improved in terms of performance. For an instance, if nursing staff prioritize practice delivery and patient safety, the standard of practices in the healthcare facility alters to assure survival outcomes and reduce healthcare costs for patients by implementing cost-effective strategies (Koonin et al., 2020).
The facility employed performance indicators, like data analysis, to lower the rate of falls causing serious injuries or in some cases trauma and provide better clinical care in all the units of the hospital. This investigation sought to determine if the John Hopkins Hospital will experience an operating income gain or loss from using EMR. We performed a cost-benefit study to establish the financial effects of Epic EMR technology in medical settings. Patients at John Hopkins Hospital are given medical care using this system, which aims to incorporate them into EMR procedures.
The data were gathered through academic research at our university and accessible publications. Over five years, each physician received an estimated $90,000 net benefits from using an EMR. Reduced treatment costs, improved diagnostics, enhanced payment recovery, and decreased customer complaints are all benefits. Deploying EMR technology at the John Hopkins Hospital may yield a significant return on investment. Numerous important aspects influence the recovery’s intensity.

Patient safety culture is vital for quality healthcare and is an issue of global concern. Patient safety is the product of individual and group attitudes, values, perceptions, competencies, and behavior patterns that show health providers’ commitment, style, and proficiency in safety management (Zubowski, 2021). Qualitative methods are usually good starting points to begin an assessment because this method can help describe a situation and provide insight into intervention (Churruca et al. 2021). In the culture of safety project, the observation method could be used, which means a trained professional conducting objective, discreet workplace observation. Management meetings could be used to introduce the program to help everyone understand the change and anticipated outcome as it will affect employees and the organization. The focus groups could also be used for in-depth probing of issues. Focus groups allow for interactions among members of the team and stimulate further discussion. Expert consultations will help gain broader perspectives on the topic at hand. These experts will include the researcher, union representative’s employee assistance program, representatives, and human resources; Questionnaires will be used to check validity, reliability, and consistency ( Churruca et al. 2021). On the other hand, quantitative means would be employed to gather data, edit, code, and interpret in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) for analysis from pre-existing records. A self-report survey will also ensure an acceptable degree of objectivity (O’Leary et al. 2019)
To create and sustain a safety culture, we have improved working hours and level of staffing, increased teamwork, enforced communication openness, reported events, and exchanged feedback about the error (Zubowski 2021). Using the six domains of culture safety, to get sustainable positive change, we must establish a compelling vision o for inherent safety and demonstrate safety as a core value. We must show respect, be consistent with zero-harm perspectives, and trust our non-negotiable standards. The Board must ensure metrics that meaningfully assess organizational safety and systematically review and analyze results. The CEO, in collaboration with the Board, must be accountable for safety strategy development design and deliver delivery of safety training for all executives and clinical leaders throughout the organization. Leaders will address issues that contribute to errors and harm. Leadership must establish safety-mindfulness. These behaviors, according to IHI, are an effective way to create and sustain culture and safety in an organization (IHI.org).
Organizations will maintain a culture of safety by moving towards system change instead of blame and shame towards staff, encouraging speaking up without fear, listening, supports initiatives channeled towards the improvement of safety. The organization’s ability to routinely conduct patient safety rounds by leadership, request feedback, involve patients in safety initiatives, and relay patient reports at shift changes. Equally important is empowering employees to act in dangerous situations to reduce the likelihood of adverse events. This fair and just environment recognizes the contributions of individuals and systemic organizational features to errors, supportive staff, and fostering continuous learning (IHI.org).
To inspire organizations on the culture of zero ham, I would adopt the belief from Roberts (2020) to help install positive ideas that would drive the culture of staying up. , help create conditions that produce high-reliability performance, be preoccupied with failure, create a behavior of never being satisfied that there have not been any accidents in months, be on the alert, follow any slightest signal of error and fix it, encourage speak up policy, recognize obligations, remain resilient, have a mechanism of identify and appreciate individuals with significant expertise. The motivation is to get their commitment to zero patient harm which is the principle of safety culture for a highly reliable organization (Roberts 2020).

Restating the PICOT Question and Outcomes of the Intervention
The PICOT query is as follows: In the context of hospitalized patients (P), does the implementation of incident reporting (I), as opposed to the absence of such reporting (C), result in an improvement in patient safety (O) over a period of six months (T)? The components of PICOT include P (Patients admitted to the hospital), I (Incident reporting), C (No reporting), O (Enhanced patient safety), and T (Six months). This investigation is based on the study conducted by Petschnig and Haslinger-Baumann (2017), which explored the effectiveness of incident reporting systems in hospitals and their deployment to enhance patient safety. The assessment of the change process’s effectiveness within the fifth and final stage of an evidence-based practice (EBP) framework is central to this inquiry.
A nurse who holds one or more specialty-nursing certifications in transport, such as the Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) and the Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN), offered by the Board for Certification of Emergency Nurses (BCEN) is commonly assumed to have greater clinical and transport safety knowledge and competency than a nurse who holds no such certifications (BCEN, 2021 & Schroeter, 2015). Although these certifications require nurses to be familiar with safety standards, it is unclear if transport nurses consistently translate/apply safety knowledge into behaviors post certification examination. There are no safety universal assessment requirements post certification. Despite the standard practice of viewing certification status as an indicator of safety competency, there is little quantitative information to determine the relationship between the two.
In the current project, our purpose was to determine the relationship between certification status and the transport nurse’s self-rated safety competency. The specific aims were as follows.
Aim 1. Compare safety competency scores between transport nurses with any specialty nursing certification and transport nurses holding no specialty nursing certification.

Problem Statement and Significance
The burden of diabetes is disproportionately higher among the Hispanic population in the U.S., as more than 12.5 % are diagnosed with diabetes compared to 7.5% of non-Hispanic whites (Center for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2020; U.S. Census Bureau, 2019). In addition to being at greater risk for developing diabetes type 2, Hispanics are also more likely to develop diabetes type 2 at a younger age and more likely to experience complications from diabetes when compared to non-Hispanic whites (CDC, 2020). Social determinants of health (SDOH), such as lower than average incomes and high uninsured rates, adversely impacting their ability to access and afford primary health care services (U.S. Census Bureau, 2018). Aside from having genetic, environmental, socioeconomic, and lifestyle risk factors for diabetes, many Hispanics living in the U.S. encounter language barriers and lack access to culturally sensitive diabetes education (Aguayo-Mazzucato et al., 2019). The language barrier and lack of culturally sensitive education often prevent individuals from asking questions, understanding medical instructions or educational materials, and establishing relationships with health care providers.
Recent evidence-based approaches aimed to reduce these health disparities include the use of Community Health Workers (CHWs) or promotores (the Spanish word for health promoters). The American Diabetes Association (ADA, 2021) advocates for the use of CHWs in cost-effective, patient-centered strategies to improve outcomes and reduce risks of diabetes in underserved communities. Utilization of CHWs for diabetes education is vital to disseminating diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES) to the community, as there is estimated to be only one diabetes educator for at least 1000 people living with diabetes in the U.S. (American Association of Diabetes Educators [AADE], 2017). Based on a review of literature conducted in September 2020, CHWs can be instrumental in improving diabetes outcomes among Hispanic adults in the United States (Aponte et al., 2017; Carrasquillo et al., 2017; Hughes et al., 2016; Kane et al., 2016; Perez-Escamilla et al., 2015; Spencer et al., 2018). Besides lowering hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C), CHW-led diabetes programs were also found to improve diabetes knowledge (Aponte et al., 2017; Kane et al., 2016), blood pressure (Kane et al., 2016), fasting glucose (Perez-Escamilla et al., 2015), quality of life scores (Kane et al., 2016), and diabetes distress and depression scores (Hughes et al., 2016; Spencer et al., 2018). The CHWs in these studies were extensively trained, between 90-160 hours, and they led intensive diabetes education programs, including house visits, phone calls, or meetings at a clinic. Sustainability after the intervention ended (Aponte et al., 2017; Carrasquillo et al., 2017) and reimbursement were the most common concerns mentioned in these studies (Kane et al., 2016; Spencer et al., 2018). There was no evidence in the research that discussed the possibility of providing low-intensity training of diabetes to current Spanish medical interpreters in a public health or clinic setting.
In June 2020, Riggs Community Health Center (CHC) developed a Diabetes Care Management (DCM) program to provide greater assistance and support to their patients with uncontrolled diabetes. At the time, about 500 of their established patients had uncontrolled diabetes with HbA1C greater than or equal to 8.0%. Since there is no bilingual nurse at Riggs CHC, 159 of those Spanish-speaking patients were not initially included in the DCM program. The purpose of this DNP project was to train the Spanish-medical interpreters employed by Riggs CHC in the basics of diabetes management to be utilized as modified CHWs or promotores. A secondary aim was to analyze the preliminary effects on the HbA1C of the contacted patients once they had been included in the DCM program.
Employees who will enroll in the mentorship program will have better opportunities in the organization. They will get more motivation to work because of increased engagement with their mentors. Mentors, on the other hand, will benefit from more opportunities in their career, as well as more skills gained from training. The change management team will be headed by the mentorship director who will oversee the entire change implementation. Under the director will be the mentors who will help in helping employees get involved in activities to help them grow professional. Mentor-protégé relationships help improve outcomes in nursing care (Eller, Lev & Feurer, 2014). Mentors will be based in different units within the organization.

The New York Post in its article covers the study’s findings in a simplified way with the emphasis on the correlation between COVID-19 and the higher risks of developing long-term cardiovascular complications. Several key epidemiological concepts are present in both the mass media report and the peer reviewed article, but the latter provides more in depth and accurate information.
Study Design: As for the study design, the mass media article does not provide a clear explanation and instead claims that the researchers “analyzed data’ from patients with COVID-19 and noninfected people. In contrast, the peer reviewed article is more explicit on how the study was conducted, stating that a population based matched cohort study was employed to ensure comparability of the groups.
Measure of Association: In the mass media article, COVID-19 is said to "double" the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death, but specific relative risk or hazard ratio values are not provided. The peer reviewed study reports more specific statistical measures like adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) with confidence intervals (CIs) to more accurately express the association between COVID-19 and cardiovascular events.
Confounders and Bias: In the peer reviewed study, confounders like age, preexisting heart disease, and diabetes are accounted for using statistical adjustments. But neither of the articles discusses how these factors were controlled for, which could lead to an oversimplified interpretation of the study’s findings.

The initiative expects to reduce the fall rates within the hospital. However, the effects expected are reduced length of stay, lesser readmissions and increased hospital safety (Khalifa, 2019).The reduced fall rates will enhance the work-life balance of the team because reduced readmissions and reduced length of stay mean that the emergency department will not be overcrowded. Beds will be available for patients and physicians will be able to offer quality care to their patients. research indicates that high numbers of patient increases chances of making errors thus number of errors will reduce in the hospital. Once the project achieves its objectives, the team will have an increased feeling of belonging to an efficient work community. The level of staff burnout will decrease which eventually will reduce staff turnover and enhance the overall productivity of the hospital (Khalifa, 2019).
Quality improvement is the process followed to analyze the performance of an organization as well as efforts to improve performance (Dixon-Woods & Martin, 2016). Quality improvement programs are important because they result in improved outcomes for patients, enhanced staff efficiency and reduced waste linked to process failure. Hospitals handle lives and thus specific standards have to be met since even government and insurance reimbursement for patient care follows the health outcomes instead of procedures undertaken. Any quality improvement program should ensure that improvements are seen in areas like safety, effectiveness, access and patient-centeredness approach. The purpose of this paper is to analyze data from Washington Hospital to establish a health care issue or area of concern, come up with a quality initiative proposal following the established health issues and supporting data analysis, integrate inter-professional perspectives to optimize safety, cost-effectiveness and work-life quality and apply effective communication strategies to enhance inter-professional care.

From the fact sheet, there is the presentation of different forms of information including job growth rate for the RN nurses, overall new job growth and replacement needs, salaries, age, gender and occupational level. Apart from the need for an evaluation process aligning to an organization’s values, vision, and mission, it should have effective strategies and specific measurements (Sligo et al., 2017). In the last weeks, this project has been dealing with a Computerized Physician/Provider Order Entry as the proposed information system change. This latest contribution, therefore, deals with the evaluation of the system change. Various frameworks of evaluation will be discussed. Besides, an evaluation plan table, as well as an overview discussion with the stakeholders, will be presented.
Evaluation frameworks are important in guiding the several components of an evaluation process from start to finish. The frameworks which will be discussed here will each entail the quality of the information obtained by the implemented change, the impacts on the outcomes of the quality care as caused by the system change, or the structural quality of the system as brought about by the change implementation. One of the frameworks is the Health Information Technology Evaluation Framework. Through this framework, professional, systematic, and organizational contexts can be evaluated. In the organization component, various aspects of the change are evaluated (Cresswell et al.,2020). They include patient and staff knowledge of the new Computerized Physician/Provider Order Entry system, the cost of care, benefits, impacts on the quality process, the outcome, process, and the evidence-based practice data generated by the system. In addition, the professional and environmental components are essential in the assessment of patient satisfaction with the new Computerized Physician/Provider Order Entry system and, by extension, the larger aspect of patient and patient privacy.
The next useful framework for evaluating the Computerized Physician/Provider Order Entry system as the change is the Human/Organizational/Technology factor framework (Singh & Mansotra, 2019). As the name suggests, the framework has technological, organizational, and human aspects. The technology aspect is involved with service quality, information quality, and system quality. When it comes to the system quality, the process of adjustment and system usefulness are identified and evaluated. In addition, the technology component also deals with the quality of information where those who are authorized to access the information are accessed, information associated with the staff or patients, and the information quality response time. The next technology component assesses the Computerized Physician/Provider Order Entry system technical support required for sustained use of the system.
The other part of the framework is the human component which mainly evaluates the staff and the patient’s needs. The technology acceptance model, therefore, helps in evaluating how patients and the staff have accepted the use of the new system. This framework proposes that in a case where the end-users of a product perceive it as easy to use, they develop positive attitudes to use it. The framework will therefore help in evaluating perceptions and attitudes of the staff and the patients towards the new system. From their feedback, it will then be possible to know how efficient it is to use the new system and evaluate how the Computerized Physician/Provider Order Entry system is appropriate to care and how it makes the patient care better.

Besides, it is important that professionals take into account various methods applied in the data collection and analysis to prevent any problems that may come later, especially when there is a need to integrate data. Therefore, the purpose of this assignment is to explore data compatibility.
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) connotes a progressive incremental enhancement of safety, processes, and patient care. The primary objective of CQI is to enhance care outcomes, system processes, operations, regulatory compliance, and work environment improvement (McCalman et al., 2018). Fundamentally, CQIs mostly focus on process and outcome measures. The process measures connote what health care providers do to enhance or maintain health and characteristically portray general health care recommendations. On the other hand, outcome measures demonstrate the results of a process including whether the condition of a patient improves or worsens after getting a particular intervention (Naik & Catic, 2021). Essentially, leveraging the outcome and process measures is essential for organizations to understand if the strategies they use are effective and formulate new strategies to enhance affordable quality care. Taken together, CQI is a model used by organizations to improve their processes and support their business. Therefore, this paper will delve into process and outcome measures. In particular, the paper will explain two process measures and one outcome measure that can be used for CQI, reason for choosing each measure, how data would be collected for each measure, how to determine success, and data-driven, cost effective solutions for the challenges.
The process measures refer to particular procedures in health care process that can lead to desirable or detrimental impacts in a given outcome metric (Akmaz et al., 2019). One of the process measures that can be used for CQI is conversion efficiency, which assesses the waste generated by an existing process while changing inputs to resourceful products and services. Ineffective organizations utilize more resources with higher costs as opposed to services and products. The other process measure is quality measures, which establishes whether or not the health care organizations or providers are adhering to the existing standards protocols operating in the organization. These process measures are critical in guiding and demonstrating what providers and organizations does to support health of individuals.
Among the core responsibilities of health care facilities is ensuring that patients get quality care through various means. Over the years, technological advancements have help healthcare stakeholders to come up with more effective and efficient technological applications that can improve the quality of patient care. One of such technological applications is electronic medical records, usually abbreviated as EMRs. EMRs have been widely regarded as the most applied E-health applications globally since they impact hugely on high-quality health care services and patient safety (Zhang & Zhang, 2016). Electronic medical records are dependable due to their versatility in communication functions, practice management, medication management, and documentation functions.
This paper presents an annotated bibliography analyzing peer-reviewed research articles dealing with the use of the electronic medical record in improving patient care. One of the things that made me choose this technology is that with the continued improvements in data analysis, electronic medical records hold a real opportunity where the information can be exploited through data simulation and applications to help in improving patient care. To obtain relevant articles for analysis, I conducted a library search using different databases through the Capella University Library. Databases such as CINAHL, Pubmed, Cochrane Library, and DynaMed were used to search the articles using Electronic, medical, quality care, and health records as terms.

Specifically, it will discuss the collection of electronic data, the application of informatics, and the use of nursing-sensitive quality indicators to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of all patients. Lastly, I will discuss the significance of including or the influence of nurses adhering to sensitive quality indicators in healthcare settings.

The significance of this study was justified by the frequent occurrence of burnout and role overload in high-stress environments, especially in the ICUs. The subjects comprised of all nurses in general, postoperative, and casualty ICUs, and the coronary care unit. This article is connected to the PICO question because it provides information on the effectiveness of the stress strategies. Most importantly, it gives much information concerning the problem of burnout in nurses besides offering the solution.
The study found the highest levels of burnout, role overload, and managerial coping strategy scores in general, causality, and postoperative ICUs respectively (Rushdy, 2016). The effective managerial stress strategies include passive wishful thinking, resigned distancing, rational problem solving, and seeking support. It is only wishful thinking that was not utilized by nurses in role overload. The results show that it is only through the adoption of stress strategies that stress levels can reduce burnout nurses instead of quitting the profession.

EVOLUTION OF THE NIGERIAN ELECTRICITY MARKET
The first utility company, the Nigerian Electricity Supply Company was established in 1929. However, electricity generation in Nigeria had started over 30 years before its establishment way back in 1896. Despite the various efforts of the state-owned utility (which operated as a monopoly) to manage the market to provide efficient electricity, it became clear that by the late 1990s that the Nigerian electricity market was failing to meet Nigerian’s electricity needs (KPMG, 2013). Hence, the National Electric Power Policy of 2001 commenced the power sector reform in Nigeria, leading to several other reforms over the last decades. From 1999 to date, there have been significant strides in the reform of the power sector. The advent of democracy in 1999, after decade of continuous military rule, brought some hope to the sector. The then President Olusegun Obasanjo signed on to power sector reform with the establishment of a committee to draft a new enabling law that was passed in 2003 and finally signed into law in 2005 as the Electric Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA). The EPSRA was to provide the legislative and institutional frameworks for the transformation of the electricity supply industry (ESI) from a vertically integrated, state owned, supply system to an unbundled system that will be run by the private sector. It was to follow the largely successful model of the reform of the telecommunication industry in the country. However, the dynamics of the Nigerian political system after the exit of Obasanjo in 2007 led to the suspension of the electric sector reform by the Yar’Adua Administration for two years mainly to probe the alleged corruption associated with the various contracts awarded under the former administration for the building of seven new power plants under the National Integrated Power Plan (NIPP). According to Adenikinju (2014), to most observers, the suspension of the projects for two years reversed the progress made in the privatization process and delayed it by several years at a huge loss to the economy. The arrival of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan changed the calculus for those who had earlier canvassed for the revision of the electricity sector reform. Thus, the new president launched a new power sector road map, constitute new organizational structures that are fairly independent of the bureaucracy in the Federal Ministry of Power and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN): the holding company that was set up as a transitional company to midwife the sale of the assets of the National Electricity Power Authority (NEPA) – the highly unpopular state utility in charge of power supply in Nigeria.
Family History and its relation to Alcohol and Illicit Drug use amongst College Students and African Americans at Historically Black Colleges and Universities
In ancient times, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were among postsecondary institutions of learning that were introduced in the 1800s with the objective of presenting African Americans with the opportunity of accessing higher learning. A significant number of African Americans found it extremely difficult to access higher learning since they were largely preoccupied with servitude positions before the Reconstruction Era (1865–1877) in the history of the United States. Historically Black Colleges and Universities have continued with the representation of a rich legacy about the background of education for African Americans (Challenor, 2002). However, it is worth pointing out that most of these institutions are presently faced with a myriad of challenges including financial constraints and indulgence in alcohol drinking and illicit drug use by students who comprise African Americans. Previous research has been able to show the manner in which HBCUs have always tried to culturally and academically black students from diverse family backgrounds across the United States (Uwakonye and Osho, 2012). Many researchers have continued to put more emphasis on the role of family history among other factors about the increasing prevalence of alcohol and illicit drug use among college students. Taplin, Saddichha, and Krausz (2014) indicate that a family is an important unit in the socialization process since it assists in the selective acquisition of values, attitudes, knowledge and motives displayed by young people towards alcohol and illicit drugs. Generally, the family is regarded as a critical fundamental unit that determines the nature and level of socialization experienced by an individual. To that extent, family history is believed to have a crucial role to play in influencing the likelihood of African Americans at historically black colleges and universities to indulge in alcohol and illicit drug use.

According to Guth, Garfield & Rudowitz (2020), studies show that Medicaid and Medicare increase access to care, enhance health outcomes, strengthen providers’ capacity, and guarantee financial security by reducing out-of-pocket expenses. As stated earlier, reducing out-of-pocket expenses by subsiding care services through insurance premiums increases demand for quality care while strengthening providers’ capacity to provide quality care.
